CHAIn Workshops 4-6

The CHAIn project successfully organized Capacity Building Workshops 4-6 from 10-14 November 2025 at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), Phnom Penh.

The workshop preceded the Cambodia National Dialogue and targeted staff from International Relations Offices (IROs) and senior management of the 6 Cambodian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) within the CHAIn project.

The five-day training brought together 24 participants and was delivered by international experts from Saarland University and the University of Alicante. The program focused on three core areas of internationalization include Leadership and Communication, Networking and Sustainability, and From Plan to Practice – Simulating Policy Implementation.

The workshop was officially commenced by H.E. Dr. Som Rotana, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, who underscored the importance of higher education internationalization in developing human capital aligned with labor market needs and Cambodia’s national development policies.

In his welcoming remarks, H.E. Dr. PO Kimtho, Director General of ITC, emphasized that the CHAIn project and its capacity-building activities play a strategic role in enhancing the quality of Cambodian HEIs through international collaboration in academic programs and research.

Participants acquired practical knowledge and skills across all three thematic areas. Additionally, both trainees and trainers participated in the Study in Europe Fair, where they shared experiences from Erasmus+ projects and engaged with representatives of European Union institutions, further expanding opportunities for international networking and collaboration.
