Nov 19, 2025 The Cambodia National Dialogue on Higher Education through Internationalization and Communication was successfully conducted on 17–18 November 2025 at the National University of Management (NUM), Phnom Penh. Hosted by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), the two-day national dialogue brought together senior policymakers, university leaders, academics, and practitioners from across Cambodia’s higher education sector. The event served as a key platform for shaping policy guidelines on the internationalization of higher education in Cambodia. The dialogue focused on two strategic priority areas: Quality Assurance and Curriculum Design, with particular attention to quality improvement, accreditation, and the development of joint academic programs. Through keynote addresses and expert panel discussions, participants examined current challenges, shared regional and international perspectives, and discussed practical pathways for implementation. Day One focused on aligning higher education development with national priorities through expert reflections on policy implementation, institutional responsibilities, and system-level challenges. Discussions emphasized how quality assurance mechanisms can support continuous improvement and build trust across institutions. On Day Two, attention shifted to practical models and regional experiences, with speakers and panelists examining how universities can design collaborative curricula, manage joint programs and respond to regional and global academic trends through partnership-based approaches. The Cambodia National Dialogue marked an important step in strengthening coordination between policy and practice. Outcomes from the discussions will inform MoEYS policy directions and support higher education institutions in aligning their internationalization strategies with national priorities. The event demonstrated a shared commitment to enhancing the quality, relevance, and global engagement of Cambodia’s higher education system.
